Welcome

Hello! You are just reading my first blog post. I have thought about blogging for quite some time, but since have not found the time to do so. As I have recently finished some projects I now want to start this blog as a new project of mine.

Purpose of this blog

With this blog I want to share and discuss interesting topics related to web development. I want to teach the things I have learned the hard way to fellow developers on the same journey. But keep in mind that the best way to learn is by failure. I firmly believe that making, sharing and reflecting on your failures improves your skills much more than anything else.

In addition to that, there are also selfish reasons for me to write this blog. I believe in reflection as a tool to improve my knowledge and skills. Writing helps to focus the thoughts on the most important findings. Moreover, written things are persistent. While I do trust my brain to some extent, I also do write these blog posts for my future self.

If I missed a point in a blog post, I encourage you to make use of the comments! I hope you’ll find some of the posts I write helpful, and if - I’d appreciate to hear your story. If you would like me to write more on a certain topic, feel free to contact me.

How this blog is powered

This blog is powered by the awesome kirby CMS. No database, just plain old files. All code and contents of this website are therefore under version control using git. Changes are deployed using GitLab to a shared hosting environment. I use brunch as super-simple-fast-and-flexible build tool for the front-end development. If you have used Grunt or Gulp before, be sure to give Brunch a try..
